Below you will find summaries for the various forms of unnatural power, known or unknown to the world.

Theorems

Theorem.

Theorems are a form of supernatural study, arming the mundane and magi alike with the ability to understand or act against supernatural forces. Theorems do not need a Minor Merit to unlock. See Theorem.

Animism.

Animists study life force and nature, forming bonds with plants and beasts, big and small. Glamour and its wild derivatives of Saolbinding, Florabinding and Beast Magic each fall within the purview of an Animist. See Animism.

Theurgics.

Mystics are purveyors of Metaphor who come to understand Welkin, the Planes and their Godheads, and the Undead. They use their soul as a tool for gathering information from the world around them, creating tools to harm the incorporeal while burning Alkahest to summon Spirits as loyal guardians. See Mysticism.

Occultism.

Ensorcellers study Galdr, Aether, the domination of Metaphor, and most Practices in order to conjure miracles from Alkahest. Extraordinarily versatile, Ensorcelling is a mage's best friend. See Ensorcelling.

Practices

Practices.

Practices are a form of scientific magic derived from the world around the mage, using planar Alkahest or the strange laws of reality to manufacture Contrivances and bend the universe to their desire. What a Practice can do is theoretically without limitation, provided the necessary materials are on hand. Practices do not need a Minor Merit to unlock. See Practices.

Alchemistry.

Alchemists break down Alkahest for the transfer of properties and spells between the environment, materials, and people, creating Alkemicals for use in transformative Mutagen or Contrivances. See Alchemistry.

Artifice.

Artificers encode objects with Alkahest-powered Diction, fashioning Automata and Automatricks such as firearms. See Artifice.

Malediction.

Maltricians weave flesh using Saol or Miasmata to mend or modify the living and the dead alike. See Malediction.

Personal Arcana

Glamour

Glamour.

Glamour is the ability to manifest unnatural power by channeling life force - Saol - through arcane-adapted biology. Some races including the Draconidae and Faefolk are born with the biology necessary to cultivate it. Magical creatures sometimes wield minor forms of Glamour to terrifying effect. See Glamour.

Grist.

Grist is the power of Draconidae such as Kobold and Dragons to meld with their environment and impart aspects of themselves upon it. See Grist.

Seeming.

Changelings such as Boggarts or Inari don the guises of other bodies and even personalities, taking a life lived as their own. See Seeming.

Shimmer.

Shimmer is the psychoactive dust spread by a Pixie or Sidhe to show those who sense it all manner of sensory illusions. See Shimmer.

Draoidh.

Druids inter nature within themselves to then connect with flora through a symbiotic bond. See Draoidh.

Galdr

Galdr.

Galsterei fill their souls to bursting with Aether from the Aetherium, awakening it to the expression of magic. Using an aetherial parasite woven into their soul as a conduit, a sorcerer is capable of creating miracles at the risk of unraveling their mind, body, and spirit. See Galdr.

Exodus.

Exodii manipulate the aether of space itself to traverse great distances, sometimes breaching other planes of existence. See Exodus.

Abation.

Aboteurs sap the aether from matter to slow motions, manifest the ice from vapor in the air, or weaken the bodies of others. See Abation.

Aqua.

Aquari manipulate liquids and ocean currents, even manipulating the fluids in the body to puppeteer others or stop their bleeding. See Aqua.

Zephyr.

Zephyri create wind and solidify gases to create storms and barriers, suffocate others, and fly. See Zephyr.

Fulgur.

Fulguri excite aether to conjure displays of power such as flame or lightning, or to overcharge the body. See Fulgur.

Terrari.

Terrari sculpt all manner of minerals from sand to stone or even metal to crush, impale, or fashion. See Terra.

Welkin

Dominion.

Welkin is the term for those with the power to channel Planar Metaphor, forming pacts with powerful beings or holding sway over a state of altered being - Poetics. The dangerous few cursed with amoral pursuits must keep their secret at any cost. See Welkin.

Pacts

Pacts are gifts from the Godheads, each utilizing the Metaphor relevant to its corresponding Godhead.

Lucent.

Paladins light a pact with Andormu, Godhead of Aarda to wield wrathful displays of solid light. See Radiance.

Crest.

Crested paint a pact with Aolu, Godhead of Céleste to uplift themselves and confer their own aesthete. See Crest.

Vemana.

Vemana throb a pact with Ukhu, Godhead of the Ur'Duun to sacrifice the one for the many. See Vemana.

Fathom.

Deep Ones fathom a pact with Triton, Godhead of Lacon to stalk their prey for secrets and mind-flesh with psionic powers. See Fathom.

Nostalgis

Nostal'i dance a pact with Ilunæ, Godhead of Æylune to survive and pass on their traditions. See Nostalgis.

Omnia.

Bards dirge a pact with Anok, Godhead of Antarok to discern omens, tell stories, and alter fate itself. See Omnia.

Somnis.

Dreamwalkers beseech a pact with Somna, Godhead of Arcadia to travel lucidly across dreams and nightmares, dragging their consequences into the waking world. See Somnis.

Nimhea.

Healers weave a pact with Mimira, Godhead of Ælphyne to wield the force of Saol, reinforcing and mending the flesh of living beings. See Nimhea.

Nekros.

Necromancers enter a dark pact with Hypnea, Godhead of Avernus to wield Miasmata for the purpose of uniting the living with the dead. See Nekros.

Faust.

Faustians make a deal with Balor, Godhead of Gehenna to forge pacts of their own with other beings. See Faust.

Poetics

Poetics are characterized by having no specific Metaphor,
instead drawing from that which is being used to achieve a prerequisite state of being.
Even with Remnant, variants exist for Planes other than Avernus.

Syphon.

Syphon is the power to consume or impart Metaphor to sustain oneself - and so much more. See Syphon.

Apparation.

Apparation is how discorporated bodies traverse the planes and interact with the world around them. See Apparation.

Possession.

Possession is how discorporated bodies take possession of other entities or objects. See Possession.

Remnant.

Remnant is the unnatural ability to bind memories into totems that bend reality from within Avernus. See Remnant

Blights

The Blighted operate from behind the shroud
of a global conspiracy. When you have heard the word Alítheia,
your days are already numbered.

Null.

Nihilists submit to Nihilos, The Night-Father for the power of all and nothing so that he may one day swallow the world. See Null.

Devorare.

Devorari are vampires who abuse or siphon the Aether found in the blood of living things for terrible deeds. See Devorare.

Scourge.

Scourges are curse mages who sacrifice their vitality to manipulate the ashes of death or weave terrible afflictions. See Scourge.

Rusalka.

Rusalka are afflicted with immense desire, leeching the passions of others to bolster their own dark charisma. See Rusalka.

Nightwalker.

Nightwalkers are souls maligned with therianthropy, periodically bursting with wild fervor as werebeasts. See Nightwalker.

Other

Gramarye.

Gramarye refers to lesser forms of Personal Arcana, such as Dominion, Saolbinding, or Rituaali. See Gramarye.

Variants.

Variants exist for many forms of Arcana, lensing them through a different Metaphor. See Variant.

Arcane Potential.

Arcane Potential is a gift in its own right, enabling mages to achieve a greater capacity for casting magic. See Arcane Potential.
