The Nesting-Halls of Aethon

Introduction

The Sirin are a family of Spirits native to the Plane of Céleste. They are led by the Arche of Aeris, Aethon the Magnanimous. Though they wield what is often seen as the weakest Metaphor, their beauty and craftsmanship inspires alliances, while their winds decimate with elegant destruction.

Commonalities

Flight

Spirits of Aeris possess some manner of movement that allows them to float, hover, or fly, regardless of their Frequency. When they Apparate, they use Aeris as their Metaphor, becoming a stiff wind as they Drift.

Avians

As Aethon favors birds, every Spirit he has devised resembles a bird in some way, unless that Spirit is so simple that it carries no avian traits, or so old that it predates his reign. Rarely there will be Spirits without an attainable solid Frequency, resembling whirling vortexes of wind.

Kretch'k

The Kretch'k are small, raptoral avians that aren't much of a threat on their own. They serve as spies, or Summoners wield them as scores that slowly strip flesh from their prey. Even on their feet, they are quite agile and difficult to strike.

Aarakora

The Aarakora are bipedal avians with a humanoid intelligence. Each of them possesses Crest, and many of them Apparate into the winds of Aeris.

• CR: Equal to highest Skill Tier.

The Kretch'kar are a colorful variety of tall Avian beings which conjure gale-force winds by beating their wings. Several of them working together can conjure devastating hurricanes over warm waters, capable of decimating isles and coastal regions.

Technology

As Aarakora are naturally Crested, they wield Ensorcelling and the Practices readily as a cultural tradition. Their only limiting factor is access to Alkahest, as mining the isles of Céleste of their Aerisite risks sending them plummeting down to the Planes below. As such they send their people down to the earth in order to trade with the 'uncivilized savages' else mining the unclaimed regions of Antarok only they can access and supply with their wings.

Language

Sirin 'speak' the Windsong, which is only understood by Summoners who have performed a Convergence with Aethon, as well as Zephyri and Crested. This is a language spoken by shifting the air currents with a wing or a fan into swirls of air that carry information through the force, patterns, and direction of the wind. In this way, Sirin with control over the winds can deliver messages silently over hundreds of miles. When written, the language is symbolic with spiraling and swirling lines that never cross, always in contiguous maze-like patterns that spiral out from a vortex - the written part of the language can be learned by anyone.
