Challenge Rating

Overview

Challenge Rating is a difficulty classification system for flora and fauna on Antarok, used to determine the SP cost of encounters or the skill level required to utilize certain aspects of the plant or animal.

Encounter Rules

Rules related to encountering Fauna & Flora in your plots.

Fauna

Fauna have a challenge rating from 0 to 6 indicating the suggested skill level for combatants, animal handlers, and Animists when dealing with them. Challenge Rating is also used by Changelings for shapeshifting, or Maltricians to indicate the required level of skill to implant Cantrips, limbs, and organs from that animal. From CR5 onward, it costs Seasonal Points to obtain any benefit from fauna.

Aesthetic functions are represented by the additional Radhinne of Fauna in addition to the Cantrip they wield.

CR0 - Pest

Small Insects, tiny pests like mice. At worst, these animals spread disease or cause infrastructure damage. They may have a Radhinne.

CR1 - Least Concern

CR2 - Rarely Dangerous

This cost may be split between multiple Player Characters looking to take one on. May have up to three Master Cantrip.

CR6 - Legendary

To obtain any benefit from one of these such as taking a magical hide or its Seeming form, taking it on as an Animal Familiar, obtaining its Beast Magic, or Raising it as an undead, one will need to spend 2,430 SP to do so. Alchemists would follow this rating as well. Finding them would be Field Craft, and gardening or farming with them would be Ranching.
