  • Behaviors: Mirthe influences the efficiency of Glamour or Nymheia while performing Acts Under Mirth or consuming the teeth of someone happy:
  • The emotional state of euphoria confers the Acts Under Mirth bonus. Mischief, fulfillment, debauchery, or a chemical high are common ways in which a Shimmerling may seek this euphoria.
  • Teeth must be acquired from any kind of happy baby or person, usually shed naturally, by accident, or without notice. Murder or torture spoils the fun, and the original owner must still be alive when the tooth is consumed.

Objects created with illusions require the participation of a Shimmerling at that tier to cast them with Spell Reserves. Such illusions cannot be too much bigger or smaller than the object itself, nor are they mobile on their own, and need not be inhaled to be perceived. These are dispelled with a “strike” from any violent action performed with the intent to dispel the illusion.

  • Conditions: Mirthe is only active when utilized or deployed by a Shimmerling. Ehtrim is only active when utilized by a depressed Entity.

Boon of Mirthe
Tier Description
Ridhinne Mirthe allows an Entity to discern the emotional state of their food, whether its source is living or dead. Each individual possesses a unique palate, though they tend to prefer food that is (or was) happy, or that which has been fermented in excessive amounts of agony.
  • When consuming the flesh or other substance(s) of a dead creature, the emotion conferred is snapshotted at time of death.
  • When consuming the flesh or other substance(s) of a living creature, the emotion conferred reflects the entity's current mood.

Objects with Mirthe maintain a coating of Faerie Dust belonging to its creator, extending the cast range of Shimmer to those in contact with it; this Faerie Dust must be replaced when wielded for an illusion.

Novice Entities may spend half as many Novice Glamour or Nymheia Spell Reserves when casting them while performing Acts Under Mirth or else for 1 week upon consuming the Teeth of a happy person. Objects maintain a permanent Novice-tier Shimmer Illusion which will dispel for a week if struck with the intent to dispel it.
Apprentice Entities may cast Apprentice Glamour or Nymheia Spells with two Novice Spell Reserves when performing Acts Under Mirth or else for 1 week upon consuming the Teeth of a happy person. Objects maintain a permanent Apprentice-tier Shimmer Illusion which will dispel for a week if struck with the intent to dispel it.
Journeyman Entities may cast Journeyman Glamour or Nymheia Spells with two Apprentice Spell Reserves when performing Acts Under Mirth or else for 1 week upon consuming the Teeth of a happy person. Objects maintain a permanent Journeyman-tier Shimmer Illusion which will dispel for a week if struck with the intent to dispel it.
Expert Entities may cast Expert Glamour or Nymheia Spells with two Journeyman Spell Reserves when performing Acts Under Mirth or else for 1 week upon consuming the Teeth of a happy person. Objects maintain a permanent Expert-tier Shimmer Illusion which will dispel for a week if struck with the intent to dispel it.
Master Entities may cast Master Glamour or Nymheia Spells with two Expert Spell Reserves when performing Acts Under Mirth or else for 1 week upon consuming the Teeth of a happy person. Objects maintain a permanent Master-tier Shimmer Illusion which will dispel for a week if struck with the intent to dispel it.
Ascended Entities may cast Ascended Glamour or Nymheia Spells with two Master Spell Reserves when performing Acts Under Mirth or else for 1 week upon consuming the Teeth of a happy person. Objects maintain a permanent Ascended-tier Shimmer Illusion which will dispel for a week if struck with the intent to dispel it.
