There are four seasons in Antarok, mirroring those of the real world. Each culture may have differing names for the seasons or even their own systems of timekeeping provided in their codex, but nonetheless we use those of the real world out of character, and for the 'Common' tongue. Each of these seasons last for 90 to 92 days, for a total of 365 days aside from leap-years. Much of the world operates on seasonal increments, and the game takes place during the current season.

  • Spring (92 Days: March 1 to May 31)
  • Summer (92 Days: June 1 to August 31)
  • Fall (91 Days: September 1 to November 30)
  • Winter (90 Days: December 1 to February 28/29; 91 Days on a Leap Year)

The months and days of the week are the same as in the real world. If that day is a Monday of April in real life, then it is a Monday in the game. The game takes place in the current year, minus 1,900. For example, if the real world is 2024, then the game year is 124.

In-character threads shall always be timestamped with the season, day and year included, such as: Spring 62, 124. The month may also be used. Timestamps are mandatory for tracking and organizing what happens in the world.

Valid Timestamp Examples

  • 32nd of Spring, 124th Year of the Third Age
  • 32 Spring 124
  • Spring 32, 124
  • April 1st, 124

Rules

  • Players must roleplay in the season they are in, excepting memory threads. The seasons in the game differ slightly from real life; Spring begins Mar 1, Summer Jun 1, Fall Sep 1, and Winter Dec 1.
  • Care should be taken not to violate the timeline of your character if playing in a season you have already played. There is no such thing as abusing memory threads, so long as the timeline is maintained and any material rewards are obtained in the current season.
