Introduction

Every story you write on Antarok is a measure of your time and weight as a member of a larger global community of writers. We also understand how difficult it can be to put down a character from somewhere else where things are getting slow and pick up something new.

There are two systems for Rebirth on Antarok, for either retiring an old character, or migrating the cumulated XP of another character from another forum.

Character Migration

If you have a character from a Forum RPG where you've earned XP of some kind, you can privately apply to transfer up to 1,000 XP from those forums to Antarok. Certain restrictions may apply. To apply in private, please join Discord and have a gander at #migration.

Similar games are encouraged to offer programs to assist with migrating from ours. This system is intended to respect the time of those within the greater Forum RPG community. We also recognize that our more permissive and open atmosphere might not appeal to everyone and will offer suggestions to those who ask.

Retirement

Every point of XP and every single piece of Gold you earn through in-character play can be scrapped and applied to another character by retiring an active one.

Retirement Requirements

You must wait for each of your reviews in the queue to be finished before submitting your retirement, and you must post to each of your active threads stating that you are retiring. New reviews post-retirement will not be considered unless that character is brought back from retirement. You may only Rebirth a character once per real-world calendar year, unless it is to bring back an old character which may be done once as well. Rebirth can be jarring for those you have formed a rapport writing with, so it is best done with consideration and mutualism in mind.

Retiring

To retire, either create a thread in the Help Desk or message a Lorekeeper with the total XP and Gold you’ve earned beyond what you started with, as well as any Character Migration XP. Link to the character being retired as well as the character the experience is going to. When bringing back a character, do the same, but you must retire a character with that amount of XP and Gold. The XP is required, but the Gold is not - you will simply have the remaining gold you unretired with.
A retired character's name is greyed out, and they cannot post new threads or replies to the in-character forums.
